crosswhy confirmation?

 

  • we want to talk about the basics of Christianity in general, and United Methodism in particular
  • we want to provide another way to connect to a fellowship community (the youth group)
  • we want to discuss the faith life together, so that at the end if you'd like to take church membership vows, you can!

 

 

 

this fall's class meets wednesday nights starting september 16th - october 21st, from 6:30-7:30 pm each night. topics covered:

 

  • week 1 - history of Christianity - covering jewish, catholic, protestant, and united methodist faiths
  • week 2 - structure of the bible
  • week 3 - structure and beliefs of the united methodist church
  • week 4 - worship
  • week 5 - sacraments
  • week 6 - what do you Believe? - creeds and membership

 

 

 

there's also an optional adult class for parents at the same time in a different room, teaching the same topics!
